Can you imagine going through an entire day without anything to eat? For many people, and especially children, that is the reality they face on many days. In places like Yemen and Iraq, over 1000 children under the age of 5 die from malnutrition and preventable diseases. That is around one child dead every 10 minutes. As such, ASDI works to provide daily meals to families in need through monthly sponsorship programs singed up for by people in the community. The provision of food to families allows for them to continue on with their lives, focusing their attention to finding work and fulfilling the other needs of their families while decreasing the number of child deaths by malnutrition and food deprivation causes.

We believe in an innate kinship in all humans, as such we believe in continuously growing our reach to try to assist people of various backgrounds and cultures in gaining access to some of their fundamental needs to allow for a more satisfying and dignified life.

Due to ongoing war and political problems, many people in Yemen and Iraq have been displaced, in terms of those in the country, around 4.3 million Yemenis have been displaced, many of them experiencing displacement multiple times. While in Iraq 9.2 million people are internally displaced or refugees abroad. Losing your home with nothing but the clothes on your back is a devastating experience that has to be met with unlimited empathy and a helping hand, both of which ASDI works towards providing the Yemeni and Iraqi people.

One-way ASDI assists in the provision of shelter is by providing financial aid to families unable to pay rent. With the continuing support of Allah(swt) and the community we aim to aid more families in securing a home for their loved ones.
